Kathy's Story
Kathy Chick embarked on a journey intertwined with the melodies of music and the allure of the stage, a narrative shaped by decades of dedication and passion. At the tender age of seven, the piano became her sanctuary, offering solace during challenging times and igniting a flame of creativity within her. From those early days of playing and singing for hours on end, to stepping onto the stage for her first solo in church, music became the cornerstone of her existence.
The allure of theater captured Kathy's heart in middle school, propelling her into a world of roles and performances that would define her path. From memorable portrayals on stage to directing productions for MoezArt Productions and Musical Theatre East, Mesa, AZ, the stage became her canvas for storytelling and expression. Balancing the demands of motherhood and homeschooling, Kathy's journey as a musical director and educator flourished, leaving an indelible mark on countless students and community members alike.
With over 17 years of experience as a musical director and educator, Kathy's commitment to nurturing talent and fostering artistic expression remains steadfast. Her story is one of resilience, growth, and an unyielding belief in the transformative power of music and theater. Join Kathy as she continues to inspire, create, and script the next chapter of her musical odyssey.

Vaso a Vaso
In Italian, the language of music, vaso a vaso means vessel to vessel. Isaiah 64:8 says, “Yet, O LORD, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our Potter, And we are all the work of Your hand.”
We are vessels made by God Himself. He pours into us what He pleases and pours out of us as He pleases. For Kathy Chick, He poured in an aptitude for music, a love for theatre, and a gift for teaching. He also provided opportunities for her to develop and use the talents He poured into her, asking only that they be used for His glory. One of the ways Kathy fulfills this calling is through her role as a musical director. The gifts God pours into her, He uses to pour out into others: vaso a vaso, vessel to vessel. This metaphor reminds us that without Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5), but we can do all things through Him who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13).
This truth shapes Kathy’s approach as she steps aside to allow God to work in, for, and through her. It reminds her—and those she works with—that the results are not up to her but are part of God's infinite power. Remembering this sets her free to rest in His ability to carry out His purpose and do abundantly more than we dare ask or imagine, infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams, according to His power at work within us (Ephesians 3:20).
Kathy delights in sharing this truth with every cast she works with, watching them find freedom as they embrace it fully.
